Not knowing what time is we nevertheless believe it exists!

Think about it: Why is EVERYONE convinced that time exists, when NO ONE can say what it is?
Is that not puzzling?
And because it appears in the equations of physics, even physicists believe that time exists!
Is that belief of ours proof of existence?

Time and Einstein

Now here comes Einstein who shatters our concept of "time", asserting that it is not universal, or that "time" is not the same everywhere.
According to Einstein's amazing discovery, each object or body (including clocks) has its own clock! Each object or body (including clocks) runs on its own "time".
Furthermore Einstein shows scientifically (mathematically) that the time given by a clock as seen by an outside observer depends on the motion of the clock relative to the observer.
This phenomenon called "time dilation" amounts to the slowing of "time" with motion (called relative speed in physics' science), and according to physicists is not to be confused with gravity-time-dilation. I have been told by a physicist that I am confused and I forgot all about gravity-time-dilation, but I did not! Besides, in this page, I do mention gravity-time-dilation whenever it interferes.

Einstein's prediction made in the early 20th century has been verified experimentally later in the 1970's with atomic clocks.
The experiment consisted of 2 identical atomic clocks, one flying in a plane around the globe, and the other left on the ground.
The atomic clocks of the time ran with an accuracy of 1 second in 1,400,000 years, an accuracy that no mechanical clock can match.
The experimenters observed that once it landed, the clock in the plane did not run at the same rate as the one on the ground.
And the time difference coincided precisely to Einstein's calculations!

Einstein's idea, and its subsequent physical confirmation, if any reinforces our belief that "time" exists, simply changing the abstract characteristics our minds ascribe to "time"!
The consensus is that "time" (given by the clock) is slowed by motion (of the plane).

Yet next is a big surprise for you ... Because there is another evident yet much more physical interpretation of Einstein's calculations and famous "time dilation concept".
My idea instead is that the overall motion of the clock hampers the inner motion animating the clock mechanism, slowing mechanically the clock down!

Claiming the clock's internal mechanism and physical display are altogether physically slowed down by the overall motion of the clock may surprise you. No physicists ever mentioned it and such account of the facts cannot be found in treatises of physics either! Furthermore that interpretation is troublesome; it dismisses the (mysterious) concept of "time" in favor of a (physical) mechanical interpretation. As a matter of fact I have been told in a forum on the Internet by someone very knowledgeable in physics: "That cannot be! I do not believe that!" Supposing motion is physical though, Einstein's discovery nevertheless suggests that physical motion is acting on physical motion, and as follows.

The physical experiment highlights 2 essentials points of Einstein's mathematical work:

1. A clock on the ground is taken as reference for "time".
2. The "time" provided by a clock in motion, differs from the "time" provided by the reference clock on the ground.

Next in this essay I generalize the phenomenon as follows:

• The second point (2. above) is applied to the first point (1. above); now the reference clock is also considered to be in motion, just as the clock in the plane, as the ground on earth is in motion along earth's own very motion.
• In conjunction with that generalization my language concerning the experiment is extremely specific.
  The clock's physical display rate of change or the clock's dynamic display rather than the words "time displayed" are used in the following.

1. First I show that the dynamic display of any clock whether on the ground or not, depends entirely on the overall motion of that clock.
   1. The overall motion of the reference clock in particular, includes earth's daily spin but also all of earth's spin underlying movements, which are earth's yearly revolution around the sun, the motion of the sun within the milky way galaxy, the motion of that galaxy of ours within the universe and finally the expansion of the universe itself.
      As the following shows, no matter the clock considered, its dynamic display is entirely dependent on all and every one of its own specific subjacent motions.
   2. Furthermore, each one of these subjacent motions, starting from the motion of the plane in the experiment, and in sequence all the way down to the universe's expansion, contributes negatively to the clock's dynamic display.
      • The physical dynamic display of the clock, with an added motion in the plane, is running slower than the dynamic display of the reference clock on earth.
      • The experiment described was done with a plane flying eastward, along the spinning motion of earth. Yet the experiment also included another plane flying westward against the spinning motion of earth on itself. In this new situation it was now the overall motion of the reference clock on the ground that was greater than the flying one and the dynamic display of the reference clock on earth was slower than that of the westward flying clock.
      • Even though the experiment cannot be done, the dynamic displays of all of the 3 above clocks run slower than the display of a clock that would be set on the sun. Because such a clock would be striped of earth's complex motions, its display would run faster than all clocks within earth's atmosphere or within earth's motion influence.
        Evidently the sun strong gravitation should be taken in account and some gravitation time dilation calculations would have to be applied.
      • Then all the clocks that would be set successively down the other subjacent motions of earth would be running faster and faster, and that independently of any human observer anywhere.
   3. At the limit, the dynamic display of a clock at absolute rest (if that had any physical meaning in our expanding universe) would be running infinitely fast.
      Again our common human mental interpretation, along science theoretical relativistic interpretation of it, is that "time", rather than the clock's dynamic display, would be zipping by in no time.
   4. At the other end of the spectrum of subjacent motions described in paragraphs a. and b. above, the faster and also the richer in diversified motions is the overall motion of a clock, the slower the clock's dynamic display.
      At the limit Einstein's theory predicts that should the plane reach speed of light, "time" would stop!
      In this new interpretation the clock's physical display instead would freeze; the physical argument is that should some of the clock internal components be still moving, their motion would add to the overall movement of the clock, a combination resulting in a motion faster than light; yet according to Einstein's very same theory nothing can reach speed of light.
      The clock's physical mechanism and dynamic display have both to stop physically while its subjacent or overall motion is reaching speed of light!
      At speed of light the clock's mechanism and physical display the later interpreted as "time" in physics, simply do freeze mechanically!
   
   In short a clock's dynamic display is wholly dependent on that clock's very overall motion.
   This statement does nothing else than reiterating Einstein amazing "time dilation" discovery.
   Yet it does it in a very different way, and doing so it unveils the comprehensive aspect of the phenomenon. Without the assumption of motion acting on motion, assumption that doesn't exist in physics, that comprehensiveness is not as physical and as obvious. Amazingly though all aspects of this comprehensiveness, do match Einstein's theory!
   Again and to repeat myself, this essay is about the clock's physical dynamic display rather than the "time displayed" as considered by Einstein and physicists since.
   And I insist on that particular point because the physical display only is at play in the experiments, exclusive of any other mental interpretation that could be made of it.
    
2. Then it must be mentioned that a clock's physical display is only a puppet of an internal motion mechanism.
   Now we human built those clocks and we definitely know that their display is only a decoy.
   The clock's display is driven by a mechanism, itself controlled by an internal source of motion, which is part of the clock.
   In a grand-father clock the source of motion is a weight originally made of a stone attached to the gears by a rope and falling from top to bottom of the clock, and that is motion activated through gravity not through "time".
   In the atomic clock the source of motion comes from an atom. These clocks are based on the cesium-133 atom's emitting frequency. As such the driving motion in the atomic clock is an oscillating cyclic motion, actually depending on physical parameters, such as the size of electrons orbital and electric charges, called level of energy in science, and not depending on "time". Evidently much more complex than such a succinct description can provide, the functionality of an atomic clock is nevertheless based on physical motion and not "time".
   Also depending on a source of motion are the spring and quartz activated watches.
   In short the actual dynamic display of a clock is only a puppet of an internal source of motion built in the clock.
   This source of motion is then transmitted through a mechanism made of gears in mechanical clocks and amplified through some electronic circuitry in quartz and atomic clocks, either transformation providing the dynamism of the physical display.
   
   The whole clock that is its source of motion, transmission of that motion and dynamic display, being meticulously designed to precisely run in physical motion cycles of "24 hours" or "seconds", evidently matches the real spinning motion of earth, which also includes all of earth's spin underlying motions; and which coincidentally has been the overall motion chosen for the reference clock of the experiment, and called "time reference" in Einstein calculations.
    
3. It ensue that the overall motion of a clock isn't only controlling the clock's display let alone the "time displayed", but is actually controlling the source of motion internal to that clock.
   
   And this is precisely the idea I am trying to convey: the overall motion of a clock, controls its own inner vital motion mechanism, and does not control any alleged "time" that is furthermore not even running the clock.

Because "time" does not run clocks, and because an internal motion mechanism does, the evidence is that the overall motion of a clock controls its internal motion mechanism, and not "time" as claimed in science!

Motion in my eyes, pulls "time" and its mystery right out of the clock that gives us "time"!
But that's not all.
Motion while dislodging "time" also takes over our concept of it, the universe is no longer "made of space and time" but occurs as motion.
A far more reaching consequence yet is that that internal on external motion dependency sets us free from the concept of force!
Einstein handed us the key to a brand new interpretation of Nature, which I personally named gravimotion.
"Time and forces" do not exist! Motion instead occurs, is real and interacts with motion.

Gravimotion interpretation of Nature is based on motion, which is ignored in physics as "time" instead prevails in physics.

Our concepts of "time" and "temperature" merge in gravimotion

But wait! In a clock the "rendering of time" is not the only internal motion mechanism actually modified by the clock's external overall motion.
"Temperature", which occurs under the chaotic motion of the clock's atoms and molecules, is another yet different internal motion mechanism.
And, getting back to this gravimotion interpretation of Nature as introduced in A. paragraph d. above, when reaching the overall external motion of speed of light all of the clock's internal motions mechanisms whether it be the man made motion mechanism but also now the chaotic motion of its atoms and molecules do actually freeze!
Scientists instead, and according to Einstein's theory of relativity, claim that at speed of light on one hand "time" stops, on the other "temperature" drops to absolute 0!
Obviously both gravimotion and relativity arrive to the same conclusion.
The beauty of gravimotion's interpretation of Nature is to link physically the external overall motion and the internal motion mechanisms, a link that exists mathematically but not physically in physics, as neither "time" nor "temperature" are considered to be motion in physics.
The beauty of that phenomenon of inner motion controlled by its own external motion, which doesn't exist in physics, is that it nevertheless first complements, and fits like hand in glove Einstein's mathematics, then provides a physical cause to these mathematics.
Besides, because they have a common infrastructure that of a motion mechanism both our concepts of "time" and "temperature" find themselves unified in gravimotion.
Add to Einstein's flabbergasting "time dilation" a bit of pragmatism and here pops a new, crystal clear concept of Nature!

And that's not all! Did you ever heard about the twin thought experiment also known as the twin paradox?
One of two twins lands back on earth after a near light speed trip in space and ends up being several years younger than her twin who stayed on earth.
Physics interpretation, and in accordance with Einstein's time dilation, is evidently that that twin's "time" has been slowed while traveling at high speed in space.
Through gravimotion's interpretation of Nature though, one infers that that near light speed, called external motion in the above, slowed down the process of "life"; and by analogy to "time" and "temperature", "life" has to be another, yet furthermore different, occurrence of internal motion mechanism.
"Life" is an internal to a live body, motion mechanism; a motion mechanism not deciphered by human mind yet!
In other words there is a physical design behind the phenomenon of life.
"Life" whether vegetal or animal is integral part of Mother Nature, yet the job of explaining life is undaunting; and to be fair science at least is actively searching what caused the origin of life, if not trying to unveil the mechanism of life.
While we do mentally conceive the chaotic motion that is behind the phenomenon of temperature in a body of matter and while we conceive (and designed!) the motion mechanism of a time clock, we did not unveil yet the motion mechanism that is behind "life".
Yet in gravimotion, these 3 human mental concepts of "time", "temperature", and "life" are unified under specific and various occurrences of motion.


Beware though... whether it be physics' concept of time or gravimotion, human concepts of reality are not reality!
Human concepts of reality are always (yet only) images of reality.
The simpler an image though the more attractive and beautiful!
And unifying our human concepts of "time", "temperature" and "life" as done above is one of the most beautiful image of reality I stumbled over!
Last but not least, even though hidden that image of reality is very present within Einstein's mathematics!

Time within our thinking

The words aging, the arrow of time, seconds, minutes, hours, and many more, including motion, justify time (within our minds) whether time exists or not (in reality).
The concept of time surreptitiously infiltrated our human imagination along the centuries.
So, as far as our day-to-day lives are concerned, time remains indispensable!
And physics' mathematical interpretation of Nature can no longer do without this "t" abstract symbol of time.
No matter the sophistication of our thinking, that is whether layperson or scientist, time remains indispensable in our minds!

The lack of time in reality and in gravimotion

In the gravimotion world that internal motion mechanism dependency on the overall motion of the clock, is a dependency that is first recognized and then taken most seriously.

1. That motion dependency promotes the REALITY OF MOTION at the expense of our human concept of time!
2. Most importantly the PHYSICAL INTERACTION OF MOTION ON MOTION leads straight into a unified interpretation of Nature! A feast, by the way, that theoretical physics seeks desperately to achieve.

Motion does not merely control time, motion replaces time; and time does no longer exist!
As a generalization of that concept, in the gravimotion interpretation of Nature, the universe is made of motion, just as its expansion suggests. The universe is not made of space and time.
And as a consequence we are living in motion, not in time!
